A gift from the birds.

The season is finally here to get outside.

We have a decent garden space, but most of it's in shade all day long due to the wonderful number of trees.

This year I am focused on getting native wildflowers into one corner and adding some herbs in other sections that get some sun.

Here's a before picture after a bit of tidying, but more tidying to come.

The violet (lower right) arrived from somewhere this year, not at my doing (I am assuming the birds or wind brought them here) and is thriving.

Though they are not native to the United States, I am not sad they arrived. I think I might go ahead and make some "fairy vinegar". Violets are edible and beneficial for seasonal cleansing, respiratory infections, and stimulating the lymph.

I did get some seeds laid down, and I am looking forward to seeing what sprouts.

It felt really good to get my hands into the earth, and feel the cool fresh air coming into my body.
